Genus is seeking an experienced Project Controls Lead to oversee planning, scheduling, cost control and reporting for majorBattery Energy Storage System (BESS) project near Wodonga, Victoria.
Working closely with the project and site teams, you will provide the information and insight needed to keep delivery on track. You will monitor progress against the programme and budget, maintain reliable forecasts and help the team identify risks, opportunities and change throughout the project lifecycle.
The Role:
You will lead project controls activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the team has clear, accurate and timely information to support decisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, maintaining and monitoring the project schedule and key milestones.
- Tracking progress against the programme, identifying delays and supporting recovery planning.
- Managing project controls systems, processes and reporting requirements.
- Monitoring budgets, commitments, costs and forecasts in collaboration with the project and commercial teams.
- Preparing performance reports that clearly explain schedule, cost and delivery trends.
- Supporting the identification and management of project risks and opportunities.
- Tracking changes and assessing their impact on programme and cost.
- Working with project and site teams and subcontractors to obtain accurate progress updates.
- Providing practical analysis and advice to the Project Manager and project leadership team.
- Supporting project closeout and handover reporting.
About You
- Experience in a senior project controls, planning or scheduling role on construction, energy, electrical infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Strong capability in project scheduling, cost control, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Experience working with project teams to monitor progress and resolve delivery challenges.
- An understanding of risk, change and variation management.
- Confidence interpreting project data and presenting clear recommendations to stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Proficiency with relevant planning and project controls systems.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.
- Current working rights in Australia.
- Ability to travel to the Baranduda BESS project near Wodonga for site visits.
