Job summary

Genus Industrial Services seeks an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the Koolunga Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in South Australia. You will coordinate electrical engineering activities from construction through testing, commissioning and handover.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least three years of relevant experience in construction, utilities or major infrastructure projects.

• 3+ years experience as Electrical Project Engineer.
• Experience in construction, utilities, resources, energy or major infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret scopes of work, specs and electrical drawings.
• Experience preparing construction, quality and handover docs.
• Familiar with Australian regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisation and time-management.
• Ability to work under pressure with accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation or SolidWorks.
• Current Australian driver's licence and Construction White Card.
• Ability to obtain National Police Clearance.

Genus Industrial Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of the Koolunga Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project in South Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major clean-energy project and play a key role in coordinating electrical engineering activities from construction through to testing, commissioning and handover.

The Role

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Interpreting client scopes of work, technical specifications and electrical design drawings.
• Providing technical guidance and support to the electrical project team.
• Preparing, reviewing and coordinating electrical work packs, MDRs, ITPs, drawings, ITRs, JSAs and SWMS.
• Raising and managing technical queries through to resolution.
• Coordinating electrical works, resources and engineering deliverables.
• Monitoring compliance with project schedules, contractual milestones and applicable standards.
• Conducting site inspections to confirm installations meet design and project requirements.
• Establishing field-testing methods and monitoring the quality of electrical testing activities.
• Supporting construction verification, commissioning, turnover and handover documentation.
• Preparing red-line drawing mark-ups and maintaining accurate records for as-built documentation.
• Identifying design, construction and constructability issues and developing practical solutions.
• Reviewing electrical engineering deliverables for quality, accuracy and compliance.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical matters promptly.
• Contributing to project reporting, performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

To Be Successful In This Position, You Will Have

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least three years' experience in an Electrical Project Engineer position.
• Previous experience within construction, utilities, resources, energy or major infrastructure projects.
• The ability to interpret scopes of work, technical specifications and electrical drawings.
• Experience preparing and reviewing construction, quality and handover documentation.
• Familiarity with Australian regulations, industry standards and engineering best practice.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent organisation, planning and time-management skills.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency across Microsoft Office, MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Familiarity with drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation or SolidWorks.
• A current Australian driver's licence.
• A Construction White Card.
• The ability to obtain or provide a current National Police Clearance.
