Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland Limited seeks a Program Manager to lead the Mental Health Community Support Service. You will establish and oversee holistic psychosocial programs, recruit and support peer workers, and drive recovery-focused services while ensuring high standards and funding compliance.

You will build strong partnerships with health services and community organisations, manage governance, risk and reporting, and foster a respectful, person-centred culture aligned with WMQ values.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within human services, managing programs, teams and budgets.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and ensure funding and compliance reporting.

Your Role as Program Manager - Mental Health Community Support Service

In this role you will lead and support a high-performing team delivering holistic, recovery-focused psychosocial services through individual and peer-based programs, making a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing severe mental illness.

Please Note: This is a fixed-term position until 30/06/2028.

• Leading the establishment and ongoing delivery of the Mental Health Community Support Service program.
• Recruiting, onboarding and supporting a high-performing, multidisciplinary team, including peer workers.
• Driving the development, implementation and continuous improvement of recovery-focused services and group programs.
• Monitoring program performance to ensure funding requirements, quality standards and key deliverables are achieved.
• Building and maintaining strong partnerships with mental health services, community organisations and key stakeholders.
• Overseeing clinical governance, risk management and service quality in collaboration with internal leaders.
• Preparing reports, managing program data and ensuring accurate funding and compliance reporting.
• Managing customer feedback, complaints and service improvements while fostering a respectful, person-centred culture aligned with WMQ values.

What We're Looking For

• Significant leadership experience within human services, including managing programs, teams and budgets.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services or a related field.
• Proven ability to lead teams, foster a positive culture, and manage performance, coaching and development.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
• Excellent organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage risk, drive continuous improvement and work effectively with diverse client groups.
• Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
• Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work.
