Job summary

Mission Australia’s Transition to Work program in the Coffs Harbour region seeks a Program Manager to lead a geographically dispersed team across multiple offices, delivering life-changing support to young people aged 15 to 24.

You’ll build strong relationships with local employers, education providers and community stakeholders, manage program performance, and ensure safe, high‑quality service delivery while fostering a connected, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in employment/community services.
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed workforce across multiple office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a geographically dispersed team across multiple locations, creating a connected, high-performing culture.
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of the Transition to Work program, ensuring compliance and funding requirements.
  • Provide coaching, supervision and professional development to team members.
  • Drive program performance by monitoring outcomes, quality standards and KPIs.
  • Build relationships with local employers, training organisations and community stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and outcomes for young people.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and retention activities.
  • Prepare and present accurate reports on performance, risks and achievements to senior leadership.
  • Champion Mission Australia’s values and child safety commitments.

Your Opportunity

Every young person’s journey is different. In the Coffs Harbour region, many young people are looking for support, encouragement and practical opportunities to help them take the next step towards employment, education or training.

As Program Manager for Mission Australia’s Transition to Work (TTW) program, you’ll lead a passionate team delivering life-changing support to young people aged 15 to 24 across the region. Working across multiple office locations, you’ll manage and develop a geographically dispersed team, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery while fostering a connected and collaborative culture. You’ll build strong relationships with local employers, education providers and community stakeholders throughout Coffs Harbour and surrounding communities, helping young people gain the skills, confidence and pathways they need to achieve their goals. Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead and inspire a geographically dispersed team across multiple office locations, creating a connected, collaborative and high-performing culture focused on positive outcomes for young people.
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of the Transition to Work program, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with contractual and funding requirements
  • Provide coaching, supervision and professional development to team members, supporting performance, wellbeing and continuous growth
  • Drive program performance by monitoring outcomes, quality standards, compliance requirements and key performance indicators
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers, training organisations, education providers and community stakeholders across Coffs Harbour and surrounding communities
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, implementing innovative and practical approaches that enhance outcomes for young people
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and retention activities to ensure the program is appropriately resourced and positioned for success.
  • Prepare and present accurate reports, providing insights on program performance, risks, opportunities and achievements to senior leadership.
  • Champion Mission Australia’s values and commitment to child safety, fostering a culture that prioritises inclusion, wellbeing and meaningful outcomes for young people and their communities.
Requirements for Success
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Business, Management, Human Services or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams within employment services, community services or a related human services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a geographically dispersed workforce across multiple office locations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and support employees to achieve individual, team and program goals.
  • Experience delivering services within a funded program environment, with a sound understanding of compliance, contractual obligations and performance frameworks.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employers, education providers, government agencies and community stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of achieving service outcomes, meeting key performance indicators and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve positive employment, education and training outcomes.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence
