Job summary

Excel Recruitment is seeking an experienced Production Team Leader for a Narangba manufacturing site. This permanent, full-time role is hands-on on the factory floor, leading by example and supporting a small production team to keep lines moving safely and efficiently.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will drive safety, quality and productivity, supervise daily activities, complete pre-start checks, and coach staff to hit daily targets and KPIs while maintaining clean, organised work

Qualifications

• Current LF Forklift Licence.
• Previous production, manufacturing or similar leadership experience.
• Strong people management and safety awareness.
• Willingness to work overtime to meet production needs.
• Ability to train, motivate and support others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the production team on the factory floor.
• Provide hands-on guidance, training and coaching.
• Ensure procedures, safety requirements and PPE standards are followed.
• Lead by example and maintain a positive, accountable environment.
• Drive daily production targets, KPIs and quality checks.
• Monitor finished-product inspections and production records.
• Identify efficiency improvements and support decision-making.
• Manage daily production activities and pre-start machinery checks.
• Maintain moulds, tools and equipment; keep areas clean and safe.

STEP INTO A HANDS-ON LEADERSHIP ROLE

Are you an experienced Production Team Leader, Supervisor or Senior Operator ready to take the next step?

Our client is looking for a hands-on Production Team Leader to join their Narangba operation on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, leading by example, supporting their team and keeping production moving.

Working closely with the Production Manager, you\'ll play a key role in driving safety, quality, productivity and team performance every day.

WHAT YOU\'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Lead & Develop the Team

Supervise and support the production team on the factory floor.

Provide hands-on guidance, training and coaching.

Ensure team members follow company procedures, safety requirements and PPE standards.

Lead by example and create a positive, accountable team environment.

Drive Production & Performance

Ensure daily production targets and KPIs are achieved.

Monitor quality and conduct finished-product inspections.

Maintain accurate production records.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and decision-making.

Keep Operations Running Smoothly

Manage daily production activities and priorities.

Complete and oversee pre-start inspections of machinery and forklifts.

Maintain moulds, tools and production equipment.

Ensure production, storage, lunchroom and smoko areas remain clean, organised and safe.

Communicate & Report

Provide regular updates to the Production Manager.

Escalate operational, safety and critical issues when required.

Communicate effectively across the production team.

Seek management approval before making key operational or organisational decisions.

Be Part of the Bigger Picture

Support the wider production operation as required.

Take on additional duties when needed.

Be available for overtime to meet production requirements.

WHAT YOU\'LL BRING

We\'re looking for someone who combines leadership capability with a strong hands-on work ethic.

You\'ll ideally have:

Previous experience in production, manufacturing or a similar environment.

Experience leading, supervising or managing a production team.

Experience in precast concrete, construction products or a similar industry will be highly regarded.

Strong people and communication skills, with the ability to train, motivate and support others.

Excellent organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

A proactive and accountable approach to achieving production targets and KPIs.

The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

A strong commitment to quality, safety and workplace standards.

The confidence to work independently while knowing when to escalation issues.

Experience with production systems or DEAR will be highly regarded.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Current LF Forklift Licence
Demonstrated confidence and competence operating a forklift.

Production Experience
Previous production, manufacturing or similar industry experience, including team leadership or supervision.

Safety & Quality Focus
A solid understanding of workplace health and safety and quality requirements.

Hands-On Approach
Comfortable working in a physically active production environment and getting involved where needed.

Flexibility
Willingness to work overtime when required to meet production demands.
