Job summary

Pace Appointments Pty on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a hands-on production leader to help coordinate day-to-day manufacturing, drive safety, quality and performance.

You will work with the production team to plan workflow, manage resources, monitor DIFOT targets, and develop continuous improvement initiatives in roll-formed steel products.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' manufacturing experience; interest in moving into leadership.
• Production experience in building materials; essential.
• High Risk Forklift Licence – essential.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Experience in the roll-forming industry – highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills.
• Proactive mindset to improve production performance and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily production planning, workflow and resource coordination.
• Lead and support a performance-driven, customer-focused production team.
• Monitor safety performance, pre-starts and compliance on the manufacturing floor.
• Ensure customer orders are produced accurately and on time, meeting DIFOT targets.
• Monitor production targets, scrap, waste, quality and product errors.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and improved manufacturing efficiencies.
• Provide leadership, training and development to team members.

About the Company

Our client is a leading independent Australian manufacturer and supplier of roll-formed steel roofing, cladding, rainwater, structural and fencing products.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will assist with the day‑to‑day organisation and performance of the manufacturing department.
This is a hands‑on leadership position, where you will work alongside the production team while coordinating resources, maintaining workflow and driving a strong safety, quality and performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily production planning, workflow and resource coordination.
• Lead and support a performance‑driven, customer‑focused production team.
• Monitor safety performance, pre‑starts and compliance across the manufacturing floor.
• Ensure customer orders are produced accurately and on time, meeting DIFOT targets.
• Monitor production targets, scrap, waste, quality and product errors.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and improved manufacturing efficiencies.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• 2+ years' manufacturing experience, with an interest in progressing into leadership,
• Production experience within the building materials industry – essential.
• High Risk Forklift Licence – essential.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Experience in the roll-forming industry – highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills.
• A proactive mindset with a genuine desire to improve production performance and processes.
