Job summary

Prime Concrete Developments is seeking a hands-on Team Leader to drive efficiency and quality in concrete sleeper production. You will lead from the front, oversee a busy production area, and support the Production Manager with day-to-day management and safety compliance.

The role requires forklift competence, production management experience, and a strong focus on quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

• Maintain clean and organized storage and production areas.
• Lead from the front on the production floor.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections on machinery and forklifts.
• Provide daily reports to Production Managers.
• Maintain moulds, tools, and equipment.

Job description

The Team Leader is a hands-on lead from the front to ensure efficiency and quality in the assembly of concrete sleepers, supporting the Production Manager with the day-to-day management of the production area, overseeing a group of team members and ensuring an efficient production in achieving business targets.

This is a hands-on role in a busy concrete sleeper manufacturing environment. The position involves regular manual handling, lifting, standing for extended periods and physically demanding production work.

We're looking for someone who is physically fit, energetic, reliable and comfortable working hard as part of a team. You'll need the strength and stamina to safely handle concrete products and keep up with a fast-paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear
• Perform inspections of end products to assess quality according to company standards
• Record daily sleepers information and data to track performance in accordance with production goals
• Supervise and train production team members
• Meet daily KPIs
• Maintain and keep clean storage and production work areas, lunchrooms and smoko areas
• Work on production floor and lead from the front
• Ensure pre-start inspections are done daily on machinery and forklifts
• Daily reporting to Production Managers
• Maintain and upkeep moulds and all tools and equipment
