Job summary

Our Client in Riverview, QLD seeks a Leading Hand to lead vertical leg assembly and pouring processes in a precast concrete environment. Immediate start, casual hours vary 5:00am–3:30pm, with safety and quality as top priorities.

You will report to the Precast Shed Foreman and drive production targets in a hands-on leadership role. Responsibilities include coordinating setup, reading drawings, overseeing pours from safe platforms, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience in precast concrete manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Leadership or supervisory experience within a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate setup, assembly, and pouring of vertical leg formwork.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Oversee safe concrete pouring activities from certified work platforms.
• Drive quality outcomes and ensure finished products meet standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
• Complete forklift pre-start safety inspections via iPad.
• Ensure ladders, platforms, and safety equipment remain compliant and operational.
• Monitor raw material levels and report shortages to the Foreman.
• Identify and report quality issues, hazards, and incidents.
• Promote housekeeping standards across assembly and pouring areas.

Pay Rate: $39.33/hr (Casual)
Hours: Varying shifts - Monday to Friday, between 5:00am and 3:30pm

Our Client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality precast concrete infrastructure. We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Leading Hand to join our Client's production team.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating the assembly, modification, and concrete pouring of products. Reporting directly to the Precast Shed Foreman, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved.

About the Role

As the Leading Hand, you will lead the day-to-day activities of the vertical leg assembly and pouring process, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the setup, assembly, modification, and pouring of vertical leg formwork

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Previous experience in precast concrete manufacturing, formwork assembly, construction, or a similar industrial environment
• Leadership or supervisory experience within a production environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

Forklift and/or crane operating experience will be highly regarded.

Requirements

• Fit and healthy, capable of working outdoors (experience required)
• Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fitness testing
• White Card - Construction Induction (mandatory requirement)
• Reliable transport for early starts (5:00am)
