Job summary

WorkPac is seeking reliable Industrial Machinery Operators for a leading Australian steel manufacturing and processing business in Queensland. You will operate steel processing machinery, set up and monitor equipment, load raw materials, and inspect products on day or afternoon shifts. This role requires reading drawings, accuracy, and passing pre-employment medical tests.

We offer penalty rates for overtime, consistent weekly hours, and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience operating steel processing machinery in industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schedules.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.
• Valid driver’s licence with reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Operate steel processing machines such as off core, bending and cutting.
• Set up, adjust and monitor machines to specifications.
• Load raw steel materials into machinery and production lines.
• Measure and inspect products using gauges and measuring tools.
• Interpret production orders and drawings, follow work instructions.
• Safely operate overhead gantry cranes and forklifts where licensed.

Job description

Our client is a leading Australian steel manufacturing and processing business supporting the construction, infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial sectors. Their operations span metal recycling, steel production, processing and distribution, supplying a broad range of quality steel products and solutions.

Day Shift Structure;

Monday – Thursday | 6AM - 2PM.

Friday | 6AM - 12PM

Afternoon Shift Structure;

Monday – Thursday | 2PM – 10PM

Friday | 12PM - 6PM

What You Will Be Doing

• Operating steel processing machinery such as Off Core, Bending and Cutting machines
• Setting up, adjusting and monitoring machines
• Loading raw steel materials into machinery and production lines
• Measuring, inspecting and verifying steel products using measuring equipment and gauges
• Interpreting production orders, drawings and work instructions
• Safely operating overhead gantry cranes and forklifts (where licensed and required)

What You Will Need

• Driver’s Licence + reliable transport
• Forklift ticket and gantry crane ticket (highly desirable)
• Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing, production, steel, or industrial environment (highly advantageous)
• Can read and interpret drawings and schedules
• Mechanical aptitude and can troubleshoot
• Attention to detail, quality control and good accuracy
• Able to pass a pre employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
