Job summary

Workpac Group is recruiting a Production Labourer for our Hemmant factory in Queensland. The role covers morning or afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, with setup, operation and monitoring of steel processing machinery.

You will load materials, measure and inspect products, and interpret production orders and drawings to ensure quality. A drug and alcohol screen is required, and a pathway to a permanent position may be available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing, production, steel, or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Valid Driver’s Licence + reliable transport.
• Forklift or Gantry ticket (highly desirable).
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical + Drug & Alcohol Screen.

Job description

Our client is the original supplier of steel reinforcement to the Australian construction industry. Proudly Australian since 1920, all of their steel products remain 100% Australian made with international quality assurance and compliance with Australian standards. They are currently seeking a Production Labourer, to join to their team out of their Hemmant factory. The successful candidate will be required to pass a drug and alcohol screening.

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Manufacturing Labourer you will be working Monday - Friday, on either the morning or afternoon shift.

• Operating steel processing machinery such as Off Core, Bending and Cutting machines
• Setting up, adjusting and monitoring machines

• Interpreting production orders, drawings and work instructions

Morning Shift Structure is - 5AM - 1PM

Afternoon Shift Structure is - 1PM - 9PM
