Job summary

Opera Australia is seeking a Production Coordinator to join our Technical Team for a parental leave cover from 1 February 2027 for 12 months. The role focuses on coordinating production documentation, schedules and communications, and supporting production managers with planning and health and safety processes across productions and technical operations.

The successful candidate will liaise with crew, venues and teams within the Technical Unit to ensure smooth delivery, with hands-on support

Qualifications

• We are seeking candidates with strong organisational and coordination abilities.
• Proactive and collaborative approach with attention to detail is essential.
• Experience in fast-paced production environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production documentation, schedules and communications.
• Support Production Managers with planning, costings and health and safety documentation.
• Coordinate contracts, equipment hire and venue requirements.
• Liaise with crew, venues and teams to support production delivery.
• Coordinate crew and staff requirements and provide hands-on support during bump-ins and bump-outs.
• Provide general administrative support including travel, accommodation, meetings and workforce administration.
