Job summary

Morson Edge in Sydney is seeking a commercially minded procurement professional to own procurement strategy, tendering, supplier relationships and commercial negotiations across multiple concurrent projects.

The successful candidate will develop project and portfolio-wide procurement plans, lead tender processes, manage RFQs/RFPs/EOIs, and build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to drive value and reduce risk on major construction programs.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years' experience in construction, procurement, commercial management or supply chain.
• Experience with Tier 1/Tier 2 builders, major property developers or developer-builders.
• Experience on significant residential, mixed-use, commercial or major construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Sydney subcontractor and supplier market.
• Excellent tendering, tender evaluation, strategic sourcing and commercial negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, subcontract agreements, trade packages and commercial risk.
• Ability to interpret construction programmes, cost plans, drawings and project documentation.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including analysing complex tenders.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies from early planning and design development through to construction delivery.

• Identify critical and long-lead procurement packages and align procurement with project programmes.
• Lead competitive tender processes across major subcontractor, supplier, consultant and materials packages.
• Manage RFQs, RFTs, RFPs and EOIs, including tender list development and evaluation.
• Lead commercial negotiations and prepare procurement recommendations and approvals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers and service providers.
• Undertake supplier and subcontractor prequalification, capability assessments and market engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies from early planning and design development through to construction delivery.

About you:

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
• A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Property, Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related discipline.
