Sharp & Carter is seeking a commercially driven Procurement Manager to lead international sourcing for a broad product portfolio and manage supplier relationships across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The role focuses on strategic negotiations, supplier development and driving commercial outcomes.

You will work with product development teams, optimise costs, and support ESG commitments while overseeing a large overseas supplier network. Travel to suppliers will be required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of procurement experience with overseas sourcing exposure.
  • Experience sourcing from and managing suppliers across Asia.
  • Proven capability in supplier selection, negotiation and development.
  • Experience managing large and complex SKU portfolios.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability.
  • Experience working with product development and new product introduction.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong supplier relationship and negotiation capabilities.
  • Hands-on with strategic, yet practical approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement and sourcing strategies across a broad product portfolio.
  • Identify, evaluate and develop new international suppliers, particularly across Asia.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to achieve competitive pricing, quality and service outcomes.
  • Identify alternative and more competitive sources of supply.
  • Conduct supplier reviews and audits across the international supplier base.
  • Manage a large number of SKUs sourced from overseas manufacturers.
  • Work with Product Management on new product opportunities and range development.
  • Support market research, product development and commercialisation initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Drive ESG compliance and APCO Covenant requirements.
  • Use data and market analysis to identify procurement opportunities and improve commercial outcomes.
  • Travel internationally to visit suppliers and manufacturing partners as required.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a commercially driven Procurement Manager to join a well-established Australian manufacturer and wholesaler with a strong market position and a long history of growth.

The business operates across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, supplying a broad range of high-volume engineered products into industries including construction, retail hardware, manufacturing and oil & gas. With an established support team and significant international supplier network, this is a key role responsible for driving the organisation's sourcing strategy and commercial outcomes.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of procurement and overseas sourcing across a large and diverse product portfolio. This is a hands-on strategic role combining supplier management, commercial negotiation, product development and international sourcing.

About You

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in international/overseas sourcing, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering, hardware, building products or similarly product-focused environment. You will ideally bring:

  • 10+ years' procurement experience, with significant overseas sourcing exposure
  • Strong experience sourcing from and managing suppliers across Asia
  • Proven capability across supplier selection, negotiation and supplier development
  • Experience managing large and complex SKU portfolios
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability
  • Experience working with product development and new product introduction
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
  • Strong supplier relationship and negotiation capabilities
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to operate strategically
  • Degree-level qualifications in a relevant discipline

Experience within engineering, building products, hardware, safety products or manufacturing would be highly regarded.
