Job summary

FCC Construction Australia Pty Ltd – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the procurement function across delivery on Sydney projects. You will develop procurement strategy, run end-to-end tender processes, and manage subcontracts with a focus on value, risk, and program continuity.

Ideal candidates will have 15 years of procurement in major civil or building projects, a relevant degree, and strong engagement with clients and site teams.

Qualifications

• 15 years of procurement on major civil, structural or building projects.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Commerce, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standard contracts (AS 4902/AS 4903) and subcontract risk.
• Experience building procurement systems and strategy, not just placing orders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the project procurement strategy across the delivery lifecycle.
• Lead end-to-end tender processes: EOIs, RFTs, evaluation, negotiation, and recommendation.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontracts and supply agreements with Legal and Commercial input.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier prequalification: capability, financial, WHS and quality.
• Identify and secure long-lead items and critical plant ahead of schedules.
• Manage supplier performance, variations, claims, and close-out.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the procurement function across delivery on Sydney projects.

Key Responsibilities

Development and execution of project procurement strategy across the delivery lifecycle, including:

Developing and maintaining the Project Procurement Plan, procurement schedule and packaging strategy aligned to the construction program

Running tender processes end to end — EOIs, RFTs, tender evaluation, negotiation and recommendation

Preparing and negotiating subcontracts and supply agreements, working with Legal and Commercial on terms, security and risk allocation

Managing the subcontractor and supplier prequalification process, including capability, financial, WHS and quality assessment

Identifying and securing long-lead items, critical plant and imported materials ahead of program need dates

Managing supplier performance, variations, claims and commercial close-out

Reporting procurement status, savings, exposures and program risk to project leadership and the client

Coaching delivery and site teams and driving a disciplined, commercially sharp procurement culture

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Commerce, Supply Chain or related

15 years in procurement on major civil, structural or building projects

Strong working knowledge of Australian Standard construction contracts (AS 4902, AS 4903) and subcontract risk

Experience building procurement systems and strategy, not just placing orders

Confident engaging with clients, subcontractors and site teams, and comfortable holding the line in negotiation
