Job summary

Coles Group is seeking a Process Worker for Chef Fresh in Banksmeadow to keep production areas clean and compliant with food-safety standards. You will assist with changeovers, downtime cleans, allergen cleans and start‑up readiness while following PPE and safety procedures.

The role emphasizes teamwork in a fast-paced food production environment with training provided and opportunities for career progression within retail food operations.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working in a wet, cold and temperature‑controlled production environment.
• Capable of safely performing physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise equipment, utensils and production areas to meet safety and quality standards.
• Support production changeovers, downtime cleans, allergen cleans and start‑up readiness.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow safety procedures.
• Assist the team to maintain a clean and safe workplace in a large team setting.

About the role

Join us at Chef Fresh as a Process Worker in a hands‑on role that plays a vital part in keeping our production operations clean, safe and efficient. You’ll ensure equipment, utensils and production areas are cleaned and sanitised to meet food safety, hygiene and quality standards, while supporting your team with production changeovers, downtime cleans, allergen cleans and start‑up readiness activities. All required PPE will be provided to help you perform your daily tasks safely.

Available Shifts

Night shift: 10pm start

About you and your skills

• Comfortable working in a wet, cold and temperature‑controlled production environment
• Capable of safely performing physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
• Willing to learn and complete relevant training to perform cleaning duties safely and effectively
• Able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
• Confident safely handling and using cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety procedures and processes
• Take pride in maintaining a clean and safe workplace, following procedures and working as part of a large team

Desired for the role

• Commercial kitchen hand experience preferred
• Food manufacturing industry cleaning experience
