Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited is seeking a Fugal Operator at Invicta Mill in North Queensland. You will transform raw ingredients into raw sugar, working with a proactive team in a lively environment.

The role involves shift work during the June–December crushing season and day work January–May for maintenance, within a permanent factory setting. The ideal candidate communicates well and has basic maintenance skills; training is provided for the right aptitude and team fit.

Qualifications

• Training will be provided to the right candidate.
• Maintenance skills desirable include trade qualifications and High Risk Work Licences (Rigger, Dogger, Scaffolder).

Responsibilities

• Produce raw sugar with quality and efficiency targets.
• Collaborate with Mill management, Pan Boilers and Shift Team.
• Sample and inspect sugar and molasses streams for quality.
• Maintain housekeeping standards around the fugal station for safety.
• Inspect plant and equipment and action maintenance requests.
• Complete logbooks and data records for management.

As a Fugal Operator at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will be working as part of our sugar production team, where you'll transform raw ingredients into raw sugar while having a blast! You'll work alongside great colleagues, tackle exciting challenges, and enjoy a lively atmosphere filled with teamwork.

Located at our Invicta Mill in beautiful North Queensland, the local area offers a laid-back lifestyle, with exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep. Whether you're into fishing and boating, hiking, or just chilling by the beach, the Burdekin Region has it all waiting for you.

This is a permanent position in our sugar processing factory which requires Shift Work during the Crushing season (June - December) and Day Work during the Maintenance season (Jan - May).

Your Role in Action

• Sweet Systems: Produce Raw Sugar and C seed/magma that consistently satisfies quality and technical standards with minimal disruption to operations and product loss.
• Collaboration Crew: Work in conjunction and communicate effectively with the Mill management, Pan Boilers and Shift Team.
• Data Detective: Sample, inspect and perform basic analysis on sugar and molasses streams.
• Housekeeping Hero: Maintain excellent housekeeping practices around fugal station to ensure a safe work environment.
• Efficiency Enforcer: Perform regular inspection of plant, equipment and complete maintenance request as required.
• Accuracy in Action: Complete logbooks, charts and any other data collection required by management.
