Job summary

Wilmar Sugar & Renewables is seeking a skilled Boilermaker to maintain and improve cane rail infrastructure at the Proserpine Mill. This permanent, full-time role follows a year-round day roster and may require some weekend work and overtime, situating you in the Whitsunday region.

Join a supportive team focused on safe fabrication and repairs, where you’ll scope work, manage permits, mentor others, and uphold quality standards while contributing to production and transport operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade required.
• Current medium rigid truck licence (or willingness to obtain one) and a manual driver's licence.
• Basic Rigger and Dogger HRWL certifications would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Keep Things Running Smoothly: Carrying out repairs and modifications to all rail infrastructure, including general fabrication.
• Coach and Mentor: Provide guidance, active involvement and coaching in assisting to ensuring safe working procedures are achieved.
• Scope Work: Assisting in the identification of the scope of work required, also ensure work orders, permits are completed accurately and on time, maintaining compliance and efficiency.
• Uphold Quality and Teamwork: Work within a collaborative environment, conducting inspections, identifying problems, and implementing improvements to ensure the highest quality standards.

Your Winning Combination

Our ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade, along with a current medium rigid truck licence (or willingness to obtain one), and a manual driver's license. If you have additional certificates, that's a plus, Basic Rigger; Dogger HRWL would be highly regarded! If you don't—we're here to help you learn and grow in your role!
