Job summary

The Midfield Group is seeking a Process Engineer to advance manufacturing and processing performance across production lines. You will drive process optimisation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput, quality, and waste reduction.

The role requires an engineering degree and hands-on experience in manufacturing or food processing environments, with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
• Experience in a Process Engineer or similar role within manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, or industrial environments.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and operational optimisation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Improve and optimise production processes to increase efficiency, throughput, quality, and reduce waste.
• Monitor KPIs (output, downtime, yield, OEE) to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support production teams with process troubleshooting and day-to-day issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and problem-solving tools.
• Support commissioning and optimisation of new equipment and process changes.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and control procedures.
• Work with Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Projects to improve plant performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety (HACCP), quality, WHS, and environmental standards.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to support operational decision-making.
