Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking a proactive regulatory professional to maintain safety, amenity and liveability across the Sunshine Coast region. The role involves enforcing local laws, gathering evidence, and delivering education programs to promote responsible community behaviour.

You’ll work within the Regulatory Response Services Branch, with pre-employment medical and criminal history checks required. A flexible 9-day fortnight and hybrid WFH are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience applying legislation, policies, procedures or regulatory requirements with sound decision-making and integrity.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in dynamic environments and work in a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication and strong customer service skills to handle challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive patrols across Council-managed land to monitor and enforce compliance with local laws.
• Investigate compliance matters, gather evidence and support enforcement activities under relevant legislation.
• Deliver community education programs that promote responsible pet ownership and voluntary compliance.
• Provide advice and guidance to residents and stakeholders on local laws, compliance requirements and community responsibilities.
