Job summary

Sunshine Coast Regional Council is seeking a Proactive Compliance Response Officer to help maintain safety and amenity across the Sunshine Coast. The role involves proactive patrols, education, investigation of breaches and collaboration with residents, businesses and stakeholders to promote compliant behaviours.

The position offers casual hours, a dynamic field environment near beaches and parks, and opportunities to contribute to environmental protection and community well-being while working

Qualifications

• Experience applying legislation, policies, procedures or regulatory requirements with sound, professional judgment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to handle challenging situations.
• Passion for education, compliance and creating positive community outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive patrols across Council-managed land to monitor and enforce local laws.
• Investigate compliance matters, gather evidence and support enforcement under relevant legislation.
• Deliver community education programs promoting responsible pet ownership and voluntary compliance.
• Provide advice on local laws, compliance requirements and community responsibilities.
