MRAEL, in partnership with Insignia, is seeking a Printing Apprentice to join their Wakerley production team for an ASAP start. This 4-year hands-on trade delivers a nationally recognised Certificate III in Printing.

No experience required; training provided. You will learn print production basics, assist with press setups, and progress toward running your own printing press under supervision in a safe, modern facility.

MRAEL, in partnership with Insignia, is looking for a motivated Printing Apprentice to join their production team in Wakerley, QLD for an immediate start (ASAP). This position is also open to students currently in year 12.

This is a 4-year commitment to a practical, hands-on trade where you will earn a nationally recognised qualification. Please note: this is a manufacturing and production trade, NOT a graphic design role. You will be working directly with heavy machinery and production equipment.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll start by learning the essentials of print production. During your first 3 months, you’ll build strong foundations through hands-on tasks such as:

• Washing ink trays and keeping equipment clean
• Assisting with waste paper removal and general production housekeeping
• Preparing materials, inks, and job components
• Helping qualified printers with press setups
• Supporting quality checks and finishing processes
• Keeping the production area tidy, safe, and well-organised

Note: These tasks may be repetitive at first, but they are key to learning how a print floor operates.

As your confidence grows, you’ll gradually progress to more technical duties, including:

• Assisting with running press equipment
• Learning how to troubleshoot common production issues
• Building the skills to eventually operate your own printing press under supervision

Requirements:

• The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment medical, including a Drug and Alcohol screen.
• A driver’s licence and realible transport are helpful but not essential.
