AECOM is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to join our Energy team in Australia. You will lead power-system analyses for grid connection projects, integrating renewables and storage while guiding delivery teams to ensure reliability across NWPS and NWIS networks.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with power-systems focus and 5–8+ years’ experience, plus hands-on use of PSS/e, PSCAD, Digsilent PowerFactory, Python scripting and ETAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with major in power systems
• 5+ years (Senior) or 8+ years (Principal) experience in grid compliance and system modelling
• Experience with grid-scale renewables (wind/solar/battery) connections to NEM & WEM

Responsabilités

• Lead steady-state and dynamic studies for islanded and weak power systems
• Assess integration of diesel, gas, solar PV, wind, storage and HV equipment
• Develop operating envelopes and dispatch assumptions
• Prepare technical assessments for new connections and network upgrades
• Develop and maintain power-system models and deliver auditable reports
• Engage with asset owners, network operators and regulators
• Lead technical workstreams and mentor engineers
