Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to lead grid connection projects across Australia, focusing on developing and delivering grid connection studies and advisory services for renewables, mining, and industrial loads.

You will manage steady-state and dynamic analyses, mentor engineers, and support client proposals while coordinating with NWPS/NWIS regional teams. Hybrid work options and career growth are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization.
• 5+ years experience for Senior or 8+ years for Principal in grid/engineering consultancy.
• Experience with grid-scale renewables in Australian networks is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead steady-state and dynamic studies for islanded and weak power systems.
• Develop methodologies for power-system assessments under various frameworks.
• Lead technical workstreams, manage quality, mentor engineers, and support proposals.
• Engage with asset owners and regional operators to resolve technical issues.
