Job summary

ACCIONA Energía in Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to drive grid connection activities for large-scale wind, solar and storage projects. The role covers feasibility, connection applications, commissioning and operational support across Australia, with sites in Melbourne or Brisbane.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in renewable power systems, strong PSSE/PSCAD/PowerFactory skills, and familiarity with AEMO processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in power systems engineering within renewable generation, transmission or distribution.
• Strong experience with power system modelling tools including PSSE, PSCAD and/or PowerFactory.
• Knowledge of inverter-based resources including wind, solar and battery energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support grid connection activities for utility-scale wind, solar and battery energy storage projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Deliver power system studies, technical assessments and grid connection documentation to support successful connection and compliance outcomes.
• Work closely with AEMO, network service providers, consultants and project teams to navigate connection requirements and technical approvals.
• Provide engineering leadership during commissioning, testing, model validation and energisation activities.
• Support operational assets by resolving power system performance issues and ensuring ongoing compliance with grid obligations.
• Contribute technical expertise to project development, bids and strategic initiatives that support the growth of our renewable energy portfolio.
