Job summary
AMC Consultants in Australia seeks a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical team in one of our Australian offices (Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Perth). You will lead complex geotechnical analyses, manage client relationships, and drive project delivery across open pit and underground mining environments.
The role requires 15+ years’ experience, a relevant degree, and strong mentoring and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in open pit and/or underground mining.
- Strong analytics, problem-solving and client-facing skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent report writing and written/verbal communication.
- Commitment to high ethical standards and AMC values.
Responsibilities
- Apply technical geotechnical expertise across open pit and underground mining methods.
- Provide consulting support and practical engineering solutions to clients.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Prepare, review and assure reports, designs and project deliverables.
- Conduct geotechnical investigations, modelling and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
