Job summary

AMC Consultants invites applications for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical team at any Australian office. You will deliver high-quality geotechnical solutions across open pit and underground mining projects, leading technical teams and ensuring rigorous risk assessment and reporting.

You will contribute to client relationships and project delivery, with strong emphasis on technical leadership, mentoring, and quality outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Mining Engineering required.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in open pit and/or underground mining.
• Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and communication.
• Values aligned to AMC; high ethical standards and professionalism.
• AusIMM CP status highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical projects across open pit and underground mining.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to teams.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports and designs.
• Undertake investigations, analysis, modelling, and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and project delivery.
