Job summary

St Therese's School Bentley Park is seeking a School Learning Officer to maximise educational outcomes by supporting Teachers in delivering learning programs, including small group and 1:1 sessions. The role involves evaluating student needs, providing physical assistance, and helping implement learning strategies.

Qualifications

• Hold a Working with Children Blue Card.
• Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluating and assessing the learning needs of students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Work with students according to lesson plans and directions from the class teacher.
• Provide physical assistance to students where necessary and appropriate.
• Participate in planning days with team teachers to discuss student needs.
• Support students with social/emotional needs and supervise time-out periods as required.
• Adhere to classroom rules, expectations and behaviour management plans.
• Assist with in-class support programmes as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Report regularly to the classroom teacher on student progress.
• Assist with group work in Literacy block time as directed.
• Keep personal records of student work sessions.
• Assist teaching staff in supervision of students for all concerns referred to staff.
