Job summary

The School Learning Officer (Casual) at St Therese's School, Bentley Park, in Cairns, is a casual/temporary position supporting classroom teachers to meet the learning goals of students, including those with diverse needs.

No experience required. Hold a Working with Children Blue Card and support the ethos of Catholic Education. Salary is casual hourly SOF Level 3 with our standard entitlements and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluating and assessing the learning needs of students under supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Attend meetings involving parents, teachers and/or specialists to discuss student progress and needs.
• Work with students according to lesson plans provided by the class teacher.
• Provide physical assistance to students where necessary.
