Job summary

St Therese's School Bentley Park in Cairns is seeking a School Learning Officer to support teachers in delivering learning programs to prep to year 6 students. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, assessments, and progress reporting. The position is term-time, 30 hours per school week, with a fixed term ending 21 January 2028.

The salary is per hour at level 3 for School Officer. Commencement is 25 January 2027, with an application closing date of 26 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Hold a Working with Children Blue Card.
• Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teachers to maximise educational outcomes in small group or 1:1 settings.
• Assist with evaluating learning needs under direction of the classroom teacher.
• Provide assistance to students and participate in planning with team teachers.
• Report regularly to the classroom teacher on student progress.
• Support group work in Literacy and maintain student session records.
