Job summary

Knox Gardens Primary School is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to deliver high-quality literacy and numeracy instruction, plan engaging programs, and monitor student progress within a inclusive school community in Victoria.

The role emphasises collaborative relationships with students, parents and staff, with opportunities to contribute to school policies and professional learning. Applicants are expected to be registered with VIT and bring strong planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the community.
• Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and engagement in professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students; implement curriculum programs.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program across the school.
• Undertake other classroom teaching duties and organisational tasks as required.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Engage in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.
