Job summary

Langlands Restaurant & Bar at Hyatt Centric Melbourne seeks a friendly Host to welcome guests, manage reservations and seat guests, ensuring a seamless dining experience. You will work closely with the front-of-house team to maintain flow and guest satisfaction.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in premium hospitality, strong communication skills, and a Victorian RSA certificate. Hyatt benefits and premium dining opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• Passionate about hospitality and guest experience.
• Previous experience in premium restaurant/hotel settings.
• At least 2 years as a Section Waiter, with a warm, engaging presence.
• Confident, friendly communicator who connects with guests.
• Calm and organised in fast-paced service.
• Strong attention to detail; manage reservations and flow.
• Experience with POS or reservation systems (Infrasys highly regarded).
• Victorian RSA certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Create warm first and last impressions by welcoming and seating guests.
• Manage reservations, waitlists and table allocations for smooth service.
• Coordinate the dining room flow with the Venue Manager and front-of-house team.
• Build rapport with guests; share knowledge of Langlands dining experience.
• Maintain booking systems, table plans and guest communications.
• Open and close the venue, including POS reconciliation.
• Support private dining and special events.
• Maintain high presentation standards with food safety compliance.
