Job summary

SunDoctors Skin Cancer Clinics in Gympie seeks a friendly, proactive nurse to support a busy clinic. This permanent part-time role requires a minimum of 16 hours per week, with availability on Mondays and Fridays.

You’ll join a fast-paced team focused on delivering high-quality patient care in a warm, professional environment. Ideal candidates hold current AHPRA registration and at least 1 year of nursing experience; GP or skin cancer experience is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA Registration as a practicing nurse.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience; GP or skin cancer experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with multiple computer systems and patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, welcoming patient care in a busy clinic.
• Assist doctors with skin cancer procedures and excisions.
• Perform wound care and suture removal.
• Maintain infection control and sterilisation standards.
• Prepare treatment rooms and support day-to-day clinic operations.

About the Role

Do you enjoy variety, teamwork, and making patients feel at ease? We are looking for a friendly and proactive nurse to support our busy clinic in Gympie.

This is a permanent part-time position with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week. To meet the needs of the clinic, applicants must be available to work on Mondays and Fridays. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide warm, welcoming, and professional care to our patients
• Assist doctors with skin cancer procedures and excisions
• Perform wound care and suture removal
• Maintain high standards of infection control and sterilisation
• Educate patients on wound care and skin healthPrepare treatment rooms and keep clinical areas well‑stocked
• Support patient flow and day‑to‑day clinic operations

What We’re Looking For:

• Current AHPRA Registration
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience (GP or skin cancer experience highly regarded)
• Experience with Best Practice software (preferred but not essential)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient focused with a warm, professional and customer service oriented approach
• Sound computer skills and confidence using multiple systems
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
