Job summary

Southcare Medical Centre is seeking a suitably qualified Practice Nurse to join our team, delivering high standard patient care within a dedicated team of doctors and staff.

Initially Casual hours covering 3-4 days and Saturday mornings, with potential for more hours in the future. You will perform clinical duties, immunisations, wound care, chronic disease management, ECGs, spirometry and assist with procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Current professional indemnity insurance.
• Current CPR certificate with 3 yearly update.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Vaccination records up to date.
• CPD ongoing professional development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages.
• Ability to work cooperatively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties within your level of competency and evidence.
• Triage, immunisations including children, and other injections.
• Wound management and dressings.
• Chronic disease management and care plans.
• ECGs and spirometry.
• BSL and INR testing.
• Medical assessments and assist with procedures.
• Cervical screening tests if applicable.
• Assist with triage, data management, and coordination of patient care.

Job description

Southcare Medical Centre is currently looking to employ a suitably qualified, caring, Practice Nurse to join our team of dedicated doctors and support staff to ensure a smooth and efficiently functioning practice while providing an exceptional standard of care to our patients.

Initially the position will be Casual hours covering 3-4 days and Saturday mornings, with the possibility of more hours in the future.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties within required level of clinical competency, according to best available evidence
• Triage, immunisations, child immunisations and other injections
• Wound management and dressings
• Chronic disease management and assisting with management plans
• ECGs and spirometry
• Performing BSL and INR tests
• Medical assessments and set up and assisting with surgical procedures
• Cervical screening tests (if applicable)
• Assist with triage, data management, diagnostic services, networking with other providers, planning and management of patient care and patient advocacy

About you

• Appropriate tertiary qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Current professional indemnity insurance
• Current driver's licence
• Current vaccination record and up to date vaccinations
• Current CPR certificate and 3 yearly update of this
• Maintain CPD as per your registration
• Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages and social groups
• Ability to work cooperatively and independently and the ability to prioritise and organise
