UC Dental is a privately owned dental practice on the Gold Coast with more than 30 staff and two experienced Principal Dentists. We are recruiting an experienced Dental Practice Manager to lead the team as we plan for the retirement of our current manager.

This dedicated, full-time role focuses on leadership, staff development and operational improvements, supported by the Operations Manager and department supervisors. Join us to shape the future of our practice.

UC Dental is a privately owned dental practice with more than 30 staff, two experienced Principal Dentists and a modern, purpose-built facility.

We're looking for an experienced Dental Practice Manager to join our team as we plan for the retirement of our current Practice Manager.

About the role

Working closely with the Operations Manager and Principal Dentists, you'll lead the practice team and oversee the day-to-day coordination of staff, workflow and practice systems.

This is a dedicated, full-time management position, not a reception role. You'll have the opportunity to focus on leadership, staff development and operational improvements, with support from the Operations Manager and department supervisors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring and developing staff, setting clear expectations and supporting performance.
• Overseeing day-to-day workflow and helping ensure the practice runs efficiently.
• Managing roster changes, leave requests and staffing adjustments to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Overseeing HR processes, performance reviews, staff meetings and documentation.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and ongoing staff development.
• Guiding department supervisors to reinforce management decisions, support consistent implementation of systems and maintain accountability within their teams.
• Working with department supervisors to identify areas for improvement, develop practical solutions and ensure agreed changes are implemented consistently.
• Maintaining compliance with workplace legislation, modern awards, professional standards and infection control requirements.
• Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager and Principal Dentists on financial performance, monthly accounts and practice KPIs.
• Providing feedback on operational performance, identifying development areas and contributing ideas to support practice growth.
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and the patient experience.

You’ll work alongside the Operations Manager, who oversees the broader operational and strategic direction of the practice. Your focus will be on leading the team, supporting department supervisors and ensuring agreed systems, processes and expectations are consistently followed.

About you

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Previous experience in dental practice management preferred.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with a genuine interest in mentoring and developing staff.
• The ability to guide supervisors, reinforce expectations and ensure decisions translate into consistent action.
• A sound understanding of HR processes, employment legislation and modern awards.
• Experience with practice accounts and an understanding of financial performance and KPIs.
• Confidence using practice management software, accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities, address issues confidently and follow tasks through to completion.
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and a genuine interest in improving the way a practice operates.
