THE TRUSTEE FOR MKIM INVESTMENT DISCRETIONARY TRUST – Penrith NSW seeks an experienced Dental Practice Manager to lead a busy, established dental practice in the Blue Mountains / Western Sydney region. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations and guide administrative and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as Dental Practice Manager or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the dental assisting and front office teams; recruit, onboard and develop staff.
• Oversee rosters, leave, performance reviews and daily staffing needs.
• Maintain systems, checklists, KPIs and practice workflow.
• Improve patient communication, experience and service delivery.
• Manage stock, invoicing, financial reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with clinicians on clinical operations and marketing initiatives.
• Report performance and staffing matters to the Practice Principal.

Dental Practice Manager – Established & Growing Dental Practice

The Opportunity

An established, busy and progressive dental practice in the Blue Mountains / Western Sydney region is seeking an experienced and highly capable Dental Practice Manager to lead its team and oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dental professional who enjoys leadership, accountability, developing people and creating systems that allow a practice to operate at a consistently high standard.

The practice is well established, continues to grow and has invested significantly in modern technology, systems, training and the patient experience.

We are looking for someone who wants to take genuine ownership of the role rather than simply manage the day‑to‑day.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you will work closely with the Practice Principal and take responsibility for the operational performance of the practice.

You will lead the administrative and clinical support teams, develop systems, maintain accountability and help create an organised, positive and high‑performing workplace.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, supporting and developing the dental assisting and front office teams
• Recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing staff development
• Conducting regular team meetings, morning huddles and performance reviews
• Managing staff rosters, leave and day‑to‑day staffing requirements
• Maintaining clear systems, protocols, checklists and accountability measures
• Overseeing appointment book efficiency and practice workflow
• Monitoring key practice KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Improving patient communication, service and overall patient experience
• Managing patient concerns professionally and proactively
• Overseeing stock, inventory and supplier relationships
• Ensuring outstanding presentation and organisation throughout the practice
• Supporting accounts, billing, debt management and financial reporting
• Maintaining compliance with infection control, WHS, privacy and relevant healthcare regulations
• Working closely with clinicians to ensure efficient clinical operations
• Supporting marketing initiatives, patient retention and practice growth
• Identifying operational problems and implementing practical solutions
• Reporting regularly to the Practice Principal on performance, staffing and operational matters

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident leading a team.

You will ideally already have experience managing a busy dental practice and understand the unique challenges involved in coordinating clinicians, reception, dental assistants, patients and the appointment book.

You are someone who notices what needs to be done and takes action.

You will have:

• Previous experience as a Dental Practice Manager, Practice Coordinator, Front Office Coordinator or senior dental administrator
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence having difficult conversations and maintaining accountability
• A high level of attention to detail
• A strong understanding of the patient journey and patient experience
• Experience with dental practice management software
• An understanding of dental terminology and treatment workflows
• Strong computer and administrative skills
• The ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
• A professional, positive and solutions‑focused approach

Previous dental management experience will be highly regarded.

Formal Practice Management qualifications are advantageous but not essential where substantial dental experience can be demonstrated.
