Job summary

Crystalbrook Sam in Adelaide is seeking a friendly Porter to join the opening team. This part-time role (16–24 hours/week) focuses on welcoming guests, assisting with arrivals, luggage, and vehicle handling while sharing local recommendations and ensuring a memorable stay.

You should have a valid driver’s license, excellent communication, a guest‑first mindset and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

• Current, valid driver licence required; ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Offer warm welcomes and create memorable first impressions for guests.
• Assist with arrivals/departures, luggage handling and vehicle movements.
• Safely park, retrieve and manoeuvre guest vehicles (manual/automatic).
• Share local Adelaide knowledge and recommend experiences and dining spots.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, proactive assistance.
• Collaborate across the hotel to deliver a polished Crystalbrook guest experience.

We are looking for an engaging, personable and guest-focused Porter to join our opening team and help bring the Crystalbrook Sam experience to life.

As one of the first faces our guests meet and one of the last they remember, you will play an important role in shaping their experience. From a warm welcome and a seamless arrival to thoughtful recommendations and those unexpected moments of delight, you will help make every stay memorable.

The Opportunity:

This is a part‑time position offering approximately 16–24 hours per week, ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys meeting people and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

Working alongside our Front Office team, you will:

• Create memorable first impressions, welcoming guests with warmth, confidence and genuine personality.
• Assist with guest arrivals and departures, luggage handling and vehicle movements, ensuring every experience feels seamless.
• Safely park, retrieve and manoeuvre guest vehicles, including both manual and automatic cars.
• Share your local knowledge, recommending Adelaide experiences, dining destinations and hidden gems.
• Anticipate guest needs, offer thoughtful assistance and find creative ways to elevate their stay.
• Collaborate across the hotel to deliver a polished, personalised and distinctly Crystalbrook guest experience.

More About You:

We are looking for someone who brings energy, initiative and a natural ability to connect with people.

You will have:

• A current, valid driver licence and the confidence and ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an engaging and approachable personality
• A genuine passion for creating exceptional guest experiences
• The confidence to engage with guests from differing cultures, ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued
• A professional presentation, positive attitude and an eye for the little details
• The ability to stay organised, adaptable and composed in a busy hotel environment
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

Previous experience in a luxury hotel, guest services, concierge or valet environment would be wonderful, but personality, attitude and a guest‑first mindset are just as important to us.
