Job summary

The Architecture Practice is seeking an experienced PMO Manager / Senior PMO Analyst to support Defence capability programs in Canberra. You will lead governance forums, reporting, risk management and executive support in a complex environment. This on-site role requires NV1 security eligibility and experience in Defence governance processes, stakeholder engagement, and performance reporting.

Salary range $190K–$210K incl. super.

Qualifications

• Experience working in Defence environments.
• Demonstrated PMO, governance, or project management experience within complex programs.
• Strong understanding of Defence capability governance processes and approvals.
• Experience managing risks, issues, actions, decisions, and performance reporting.
• Excellent communication, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience supporting senior executives and governance forums.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support governance forums including Program Boards, Steering Committees, Working Groups, and senior Defence governance bodies.
• Manage program schedules, governance calendars, milestones, and key deliverables.
• Prepare executive briefs, presentations, dashboards, KPI reports, and decision support materials.
• Maintain program registers, including risks, actions, decisions, and issues.
• Support demand management, work intake assessments, and prioritisation activities.
• Monitor program performance and provide reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Assist with vendor engagement, contract performance monitoring, and deliverable reviews.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication across Defence, Defence, industry partners, and program teams.
