Job summary

Talent is seeking an experienced PMO Manager to lead a major digital transformation within a Victorian public sector organisation. The role sits in the PMO and focuses on governance, control, reporting and stakeholder engagement across complex technology projects.

The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end delivery, maintain schedules and budgets, and coordinate governance activities with senior stakeholders and vendors to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale technology projects in complex organisations.
• Strong PMO exposure including governance, reporting, scheduling and budgets.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects within scope, budget and timelines.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, status reports, governance documents.
• Coordinate PMO governance activities: steering committees, executive reporting, stage gates and assurance reviews.
• Monitor performance, dependencies, risks and milestones with corrective actions as needed.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, vendors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery.

We are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to join a major digital transformation program within a critical Victorian public sector organisation.

Working within the Project Management Office (PMO), you will play a key role in delivering complex, high-value technology projects, ensuring strong governance, project controls, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved within scope, budget and timelines.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, status reports and governance documentation.
• Coordinate PMO governance activities, including steering committees, executive reporting, stage gates and project assurance reviews.
• Monitor project performance, dependencies, risks and milestones, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, vendors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Skills and Experience

• Proven experience managing medium to large-scale technology projects within complex organisations.
• Strong PMO experience, including project governance, reporting, scheduling, financial management and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management or a related discipline, with PRINCE2, PMP or Agile certifications highly regarded.
