Job summary

Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is seeking a Project Management Office Coordinator to provide financial governance, reporting and portfolio coordination for our capital works program. You will work with project managers, finance teams and executives to strengthen governance and support funding decisions.

Based in Melbourne, the role involves developing dashboards, monitoring budgets and coordinating funding approvals while driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Degree in finance, commerce, business, project management or related discipline.
• Experience in financial and budget management within capital works or project environments.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret financial data and identify risks.
• Experience preparing executive reports, dashboards and governance papers for senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of financial governance, funding approvals, internal controls and compliance.
• Stakeholder engagement skills with ability to influence across diverse groups.
• Ability to work independently in a complex environment with competing priorities.
• Certification in finance or project management (PRINCE2, PMP, MSP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial governance, reporting and portfolio coordination across CSIRO's capital works program.
• Monitor program performance, budgets, forecasts and expenditures for informed decision-making.
• Prepare executive reports, dashboards and governance papers for senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate capital funding requests, approvals and investment governance processes.
• Maintain funding registers and reporting systems to ensure transparency and compliance.
• Identify financial risks, trends and opportunities affecting delivery.
• Support audits and continuous improvement of financial controls.
