Job summary

HiQ Group is seeking a Plant Operator to support safe and efficient site operations on the Gold Coast. You will operate plant and equipment, assist daily site activities, and maintain a strong safety focus. Immediate start, full-time, with Day, Afternoon & Night Shifts and possible weekend work.

Applicants should live within commuting distance to the Yatala Facility and pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. Relevant licences and tickets are required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators and/or wheel loaders.
• Hold relevant licences and tickets for machinery.
• Work accurately and efficiently; be proactive and show initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant, machinery, tools and vehicles as directed.
• Perform labouring and general site duties as required.
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings and pre-start checks.
• Carry out basic maintenance in line with procedures.
• Monitor and report hazards, incidents and unsafe conditions.
• Follow Safe Work Procedures and site inductions.

Join HiQ Group as a Plant Operator, where you’ll play a key role in safe and efficient site operations. This hands-on role involves operating plant and equipment, supporting daily site activities, and maintaining a strong safety focus.

Plant Operators will work with equipment such as excavators and wheel loaders to support our expanding operations.

As part of our team, you will bring a versatile skill set, a proactive attitude, and the flexibility to meet the daily demands of the business. This may occasionally include performing manual tasks.

These are full-time roles with immediate start dates. Opportunities are available for Day, Afternoon & Night Shift. Additional weekend work may be available as needed.

Applicants must live within a reasonable daily commuting distance to the Yatala Facility and be able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screening.

Main Responsibilities:

• Operate plant, machinery, tools, and vehicles as directed
• Perform labouring and general site duties as required
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings
• Complete daily pre-start checks on plant and equipment
• Carry out basic maintenance in line with procedures
• Monitor and report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions
• Ensure unsafe equipment is tagged out and not used
• Follow all Safe Work Procedures and site inductions
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
• Communicate equipment issues or process concerns to management
• Accurately clock in and out each shift
• Support site operations with additional duties as required
