Job summary

Yancoal Mount Thorley Warkworth is seeking a Mechanical Maintainer to support planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and machine rebuilds at our MTW site in the Hunter Valley, NSW. You will work on OEM fleets including Komatsu, Cat and Hitachi, contributing to safety, reliability and productivity on a world-class operation.

The role requires a Plant Mechanic trade and proven heavy industry experience, with strong diagnostic and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Plant Mechanic or equivalent.
• Proven heavy industry experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to work safely in a team.
• Proven diagnostic/problem solving across Truck, Field and Mobile fleet.
• Demonstrated high quality of work.
• Ability to solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
• SAP experience desirable.
• OEM experience desirable.
• Industry-relevant qualifications (high-risk tickets) desirable.
• Knowledge of planning/scheduling and risk assessment processes desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute planned maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Perform machine rebuilds.
• Maintain and service a fleet including Komatsu, Cat, Hitachi, NHL Trucks, Water Carts and other equipment.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Yancoal MTW are currently looking for enthusiastic and driven Mechanical Maintainers to become valued members of our team at Mount Thorley Warkworth. You will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and machine rebuilds. These roles are a great opportunity to contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in Truck, Field and Mobile equipment maintenance areas of our business.

You will be working on a range of OEM fleet including Komatsu, Cat, Hitachi and NHL Trucks as well as Water Carts, Graders, Track Dozer, Scrapers, Service Trucks, Letourneau Loaders, Liebherr & Hitachi Excavators, P&H 4100XPC Shovels, Draglines and Drills whilst working whilst working the rotating 4/5 lifestyle roster.

Essential Criteria

• Plant Mechanic Trade Qualification, or equivalent;
• Proven Heavy Industry experience;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Proven ability to work safely in a team environment;
• Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving across the Truck, Field and Mobile fleet;
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality of work;
• Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Desirable criteria

• SAP experience;
• Previous OEM Experience;
• Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets);
• Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
