Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council in NSW is seeking a hands-on Plant Mechanic to maintain, repair and service the Council's fleet of vehicles, plant, and equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operation in line with manufacturer specs and regulatory requirements.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, manage on-call roster where applicable, and contribute to minimising downtime while supporting council services across the Shire.

Qualifications

• Minimum Trade Certificate and Licence in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology with fleet maintenance experience.
• Willingness to obtain Heavy Commercial Vehicle qualification.
• Current MR manual driver's licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and service the Council's fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment to manufacturer specs and standards.
• Diagnose faults and undertake preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Support efficient fleet operation and assist in rostering and on-call duties where applicable.
