Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council – Moss Vale NSW is seeking a hands-on Plant Mechanic to maintain, repair and service the Council’s fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment. The role offers a permanent full-time position with 38 hours a week and a salary range of $75,814.48–$88,108.49 plus 12% superannuation per annum.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and contribute to reducing downtime while adhering to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Trade Certificate and Licence in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, with experience delivering maintenance and repair to plant/equipment.
• Willingness to obtain a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology qualification.
• Current manual MR Drivers Licence.
• Current TfNSW Safety Check qualification (ASCIS examiner).
• Current NSW White Card.
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• HR Truck Licence.
• HVIS Inspection Certificate.
• Confined Spaces/Working at Heights Combination Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repair, and servicing of Council’s fleet of vehicles, plants, and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Diagnose faults, undertake preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and support fleet reliability.
