Job summary

Warrumbungle Shire Council is seeking a qualified mechanic to maintain a diverse fleet of council vehicles and plant. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and schedule servicing across workshop and on-site locations in Coolah, NSW.

The role requires a trade qualification as a Motor/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, with NSW MR licence (HR preferred) and strong WHS knowledge. Benefits include support for professional development and regional lifestyle advantages.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent.
• Experience in service, repair and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Current NSW Motor Vehicle Driver Licence - minimum MR required (HR strongly preferred).
• Sound knowledge of WHS and safe workshop practices.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Record-keeping and basic computer literacy to update service records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide repairs, maintenance and servicing for a wide range of Council vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Schedule and carry out regular servicing; maintain service records.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues and liaise with contractors.
• Support on-site servicing and breakdowns; prioritise workloads to meet timeframes.
