Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking a hands-on Plant Mechanic to maintain, service and repair our diverse fleet of vehicles and plant assets across the Shire. This permanent full-time role operates on a 38-hour week with a rostered day off and offers a competitive salary with 12% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Minimum trade certificate and licence in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Automotive or equivalent.
• Current manual MR Drivers Licence without restriction.
• Current TfNSW Safety Check qualification (ASCIS examiner).
• Current NSW White Card.
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• HR Truck Licence.
• HVIS Inspection Certificate.
• Confined Spaces/Working at Heights Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repair and servicing of Council’s fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure operations meet manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements and Council standards.
