Job summary

Sharp and Carter, a leading Australian manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its Melbourne finance team. The role offers significant autonomy and exposure to site leadership, with a focus on commercial insight and operational engagement.

You will own month-end reporting, forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations, partnering with operations to drive performance across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG or a similar operational environment.
• Strong management accounting experience.
• Well-developed balance sheet reconciliation and reporting skills.
• The ability to build relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• A proactive and hands-on approach.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of month-end reporting and financial results
• Preparation of forecasts, budgets and analysis
• Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger management
• Partnering with operational stakeholders to drive performance
• Providing financial insights and decision support to site leadership
• Assisting with stocktakes and inventory-related reporting
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and business projects
• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the finance team
