Job summary

Sharp & Carter, an established Australian-owned FMCG business, invites applications for a Financial Controller who will own financial control, reporting and governance while leading the finance team. Reporting to the CFO, you will drive month-end close, statutory reporting, and the development of robust financial systems to support domestic and international growth.

The role requires CA/CPA qualification with strong technical accounting and leadership capability, plus experience strengthening

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification with strong technical accounting foundations.
• Experience operating as a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership.
• Track record of strengthening financial controls and improving finance processes, systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Take ownership of statutory reporting, compliance, taxation and external audit requirements.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and balance sheet integrity.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and working capital reporting.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting, processes and automation.
• Improve the quality, accuracy and timeliness of management reporting.
• Partner with senior leaders and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and decision support.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, improving capability, accountability and performance.
• Support the CFO across strategic projects, business improvement initiatives and broader organisational priorities.
• Help build the financial infrastructure and capability required to support continued domestic and international growth.
