Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking a Financial Controller to own the financial control, reporting and governance framework within a growing Australian-owned FMCG business. You will lead and develop the finance team while partnering with senior leaders to drive strategic financial outcomes.

The role reports to the CFO and focuses on robust month-end processes, statutory reporting, and ongoing process improvements to support domestic and international growth.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification with strong technical accounting foundations.
• Experience operating as Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or comparable leadership role.
• Track record of strengthening financial controls and improving reporting, processes and systems.
• Proven people leadership capability developing and improving finance teams.
• Ideally experience in manufacturing, FMCG, retail or franchising.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with accurate, timely reporting.
• Own statutory reporting, taxation and external audits.
• Strengthen controls, governance and balance sheet integrity.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital reporting.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting and automation.
• Provide financial insight and decision support to senior leadership.
