Job summary

The University of Sydney’s Sydney School of Education and Social Work is seeking a Placement Coordinator on a part-time 0.8 FTE basis for a fixed term up to 30 June 2027, located on the Camperdown Campus. The role coordinates Education Professional Experience programs and Social Work Field Education, with a focus on administrative processes and stakeholder liaison.

Qualifications

• Experience negotiating and managing relationships with schools and stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Strong interpersonal, phone and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
• Ability to work calmly under sustained pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in database management and word processing.
• Experience in tertiary education is essential.
• Experience using the Sonia software is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate administrative processes supporting student placements across initial teacher education programs.
• Negotiate and manage relationships with schools and establish links with new schools.
• Serve as primary contact for placement-related enquiries and provide timely advice.
• Liaise with schools to address queries and maintain partnerships.
• Maintain database records on professional experience placements, including reports and results.
• Provide guidance to students and collaborate with academic coordinators and Director.
• Process payments for supervisors and mentors and assist in organising professional development.
