Job summary

Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Project Support Officer to join our Commercial & Economic Development team in Sydney. The role supports place activation, town-centre improvements, events and grant-funded projects that enhance public spaces and local economic development.

You will collaborate across Council and with external stakeholders to plan, engage, implement, monitor and report on projects, ensuring timely delivery and valuable outcomes for our community.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Events, Economic Development, Engagement or related discipline.
• Experience coordinating projects with multiple workstreams, stakeholders and deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to prepare clear reports, briefs, procurement documents and grant evidence.
• Effective stakeholder engagement with technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate place-making projects in line with schedules and funding requirements.
• Support project planning, implementation, evaluation and acquittal activities.
• Monitor progress, actions, dependencies and risks.
• Coordinate operational, infrastructure and site requirements for delivery.
• Engage with local businesses, community members and event organisers.
• Support consultation and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation and grant records.
• Monitor expenditure and support grant reporting.
• Collect and analyse data to evaluate outcomes and identify improvements.
